1. Introduction

Welcome to Faloos ("we", "our", or "us"). Faloos is a personal expense tracking application developed for Android devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

By using Faloos, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Information We Collect

Faloos is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data:

• Financial records you enter — expenses, income, categories, and notes you add manually. This data is stored locally on your device only, unless you opt in to a Faloos account and choose to back it up (see below).
• App usage data — through Google AdMob, we collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app and serve relevant advertisements.
• Device information — AdMob may collect your device's Advertising ID, device model, OS version, and IP address for ad targeting purposes.
• Account information (optional) — only if you choose to create a Faloos account: your email address, and either a securely hashed password (email/password sign-up) or your verified Google identity (Continue with Google). If you tap "Back up now," a copy of your backup file is stored on our server, tied to your account, so you can restore it later or on a new device.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Faloos expense tracking service
• To display relevant advertisements through Google AdMob (free version)
• To analyze app performance and fix bugs
• To remember your preferences (currency, categories, settings)
• If you opt in: to authenticate your Faloos account and store/restore your backup file

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Faloos displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your financial data is stored locally on your device using browser localStorage / Android local storage. We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly back it up to a Faloos account. If you uninstall the app without backing up, this data will be deleted.

• No account is required to use Faloos — creating one is entirely optional and only unlocks cloud backup
• Passwords are never stored in plain text — we use PBKDF2-SHA256 with a unique random salt per account, an industry-standard one-way hash. We cannot see or recover your password, and neither can anyone who might access our database.
• If you sign in with Google instead, we never see or store a password at all — Google handles that authentication, and we only receive a verified identity token
• Backup data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure, associated only with your account — never shared, sold, or used for advertising
• Optional: you may export your data as CSV or a local JSON file at any time, independent of any account

6. Third-Party Services

Faloos uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements
• Google Play Services — for app distribution and updates
• Google Fonts — for typography (DM Sans, DM Serif Display)
• Google Sign-In (optional) — only used if you tap "Continue with Google" when creating or accessing a Faloos account. We only request your basic identity (name, email) to authenticate you — never your Google password, and never access to any other Google service or data.
• Cloudflare — hosts the optional account/backup service (database and server infrastructure) and the AI quick-add feature. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Faloos is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Your Rights

• Access — All your data is visible within the app at all times
• Delete — Delete individual records within the app, wipe all local data from Settings, or uninstall to remove everything on-device
• Delete your account — If you created a Faloos account, "Delete account" in Settings permanently removes your account and its stored backup from our server — this does not affect the data still on your device
• Export — Export all your data as CSV or a JSON backup file from Settings → Export
• Opt out of ads — Via your device's Google ad settings

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
